I'm curious about people's experiences with starting to do Bible reading or a devotional with a friend or someone else they know. How have you started, brought it up, or gone about it? I think there's often some awkwardness at first with this kind of thing. How do you incorporate spiritual growth into a relationship?

I do devos with a friend and when she approached me about doing it together she made it about her own need for accountability. Little did I know that I was really the one who needed accountability. She was on top of her devo life way better than I was. Because I was supposed to be her accountability, I made more of an effort than I was previously and I'm super hungry and read more now than ever before. I think any time we approach others about something that could potentially be uncomfortable, if we can take the pressure, heat, spotlight or whatever off the other person and place it on ourselves it's a little bit easier and less awkward...at least for them.
Hey girl!! That's actually a GREAT question. There's definitely awkwardness at first when incorporating a spiritual aspect into any type of relationship which I've totally experienced. Maybe you can start with just spending time talking about your God-dreams together, then start to talk about what God is speaking to your heart, praying together, and then at that point, it might be easier to start a devotional together? But I'm honestly not sure! I am really curious to hear everyone else's input!!!
